About Me

Let me tell you my story

Miroslav Latinovic

BIO

As early as my 13th year, I started playing around with tech. Sure, I liked my PC because I could play video games, but I also started tinkering with OS to try to make those games run faster and to see what else I can get out of my machine.

Now I'm at nearly 8 years of professional IT experience and nearly double that in hobby work (projects, side work during my college years etc.), I can safely say that I love being a tech geek, and would not trade it for any other profession. Professionally, I started out as a system administrator / security tech, supporting thousands of customers' networks based in US and Canada, as well as all the security measures that my job required to configure on these locations. I tried myself in test automation for a bit before finally settling into a role of Cloud DevOps engineer, where I have found myself to be a fantastic fit.

Considering all my previous professional experience, I have a wide and varied range of functional skills. I had a chance to work directly with clients who are not very tech savvy, as well as with those who are. I helped train new hires, helped manage them in their early days and assisted in team leadership on many occasions. Among the technical skills, I am very familiar with Windows and Linux operating systems, Web Application architectures (especially the 3-tier architecture) and the underlying networking that goes with LAN and WAN communication. This, of course, implies solid hands-on familiarity with every layer of OSI.

As far as DevOps culture goes, I am extremely familiar with all of the aspects of software development and testing lifecycles, containerization, creating and managing CI/CD pipelines in different technology and both bare-metal and cloud hosting. I am currently mainly familiar with AWS, but I am quickly picking up the main functionalities of Azure as well, with GCP being my next goal as far as learning is concerned.

I am under no impression that there is a point where a truly great engineer can stop learning, so I have embraced perpetual and endless learning as my goal and meaning in life. I view every challenge as an opportunity to improve, any hardship as a lesson and any triumph as just one more out of many steps forward.
